Celebrating Canada Day

We passed on big events in city centres and escaped the crowds to opt for celebrating Canada Day with our friends Karen, Wes and Nick, and their family and friends. The location was Wes’ family farm located in Millgrove, Ontario, close to Flamborough.

About 50 people – adults and kids – got together for the annual BBQ, bonfire and fireworks. While Frank and I stayed only for the BBQ portion, we know everybody had a great time.

Here are a few highlights of how some Canadian families outside of cities and urban areas celebrate the country’s birthday.

It wouldn’t be Canada Day on the farm if you didn’t get to climb up and slide down the dirt pile

And get royally dirty in the process
