I decided to do this Snapseed app review because I fell in love with how it made my iPhone photos pop. I have been using Snapseed ($4.99 – for iPhone and iPad) for the past few months and increasingly am loving the effects I can create with its functions and filters.
This Snapseed app review is based on a thorough testing. The version that I use the most is the one for my iPad, allowing me to properly see what I’m editing and the final effect of my actions.
Things I love about this app:
- Vintage, Grunge and Drama “filters” which allow me to be artistic with a plain image
- Center focus allows me to fake a depth of field which is difficult to create with the iPhone on its own
- Tilt-shift for additional control and to create a toy/miniature effect
What’s not so great are the limited choices for frames – they seem to be a slight variation on one frame.
Overall, it’s a great buy if you are a heavy user of your iPhone or iPad for taking photos. The app certainly works easily to take your standard photos to the next level.
Here are some examples of my creations based on simple and originally unattractive photos that I took with my iPhone this past summer:
If you’ve used Snapseed and love it, I’d love to see your photos – share your photo links with me!
