A few years ago, I managed to capture this image of a foggy morning on Prince Edward County. It was a very quiet moment on one of the country roads in this popular vacation region, just east of Toronto.
I was exploring Prince Edward County with a friend over the weekend. Best known as a wine and culinary destination located a few hours east of Toronto, it remains rural, with farms and small towns dominating the landscape.
Our bed and breakfast was a renovated old farmhouse near Ameliasburgh. Early one morning, my friend and I decided to take a drive to see some of the key highlights of the county. We came across this morning scene with corn fields and the farm enshrouded in fog. I couldn’t resist snapping a photo with my Lumix point and shoot – I like the effect the fog makes over the fields in the distance.
TIP: Try the wine trail in Prince Edward County and check out all the new restaurants that have been popping up – Toronto chefs and restaurateurs are taking advantage of locally-grown ingredients for delicious dishes that attract summer vacationers and day trippers. Head to Sandbanks Provincial Park early in the day to get a prime spot on the fantastic sandy beach, and enjoy a day in the sun.
