While walking about Amsterdam is a must for a true tourist experience, taking a canal cruise at the start of your visit is a great way to get a taste of what the city has to offer. Cruising Amsterdam’s canals is something to do at least once in your lifetime when visiting this city.
You see things differently from the canals. It’s a much slower way to travel than by car and without the impediments of numerous cyclists that can run you over. You can permit yourself to look up at the windows and roof lines of the old buildings in Amsterdam.
During my business trip in 2011 for one of my clients, we were treated to a tour of Amsterdam via a boat cruise. Although it was evening, and the light was waning, I still managed to get several photos with my camera.
