Highlights from the Lowville Winter Games

As part of this year’s Burlington Winter Carnival, the Lowville Winter Games was an opportunity for families with kids to get outdoors, enjoy the crisp air and do various fun activities.

While the weather hasn’t cooperated this year, resulting in a lack of snow and slightly muddy, icy fields, Lowville Park was still a hot spot on January 29th. With the smell of hotdogs in the air, grilled cheese sandwiches to be consumed via Gorilla Cheese and a cupcake to top off your meal via Cupcake Diner, the food for this event was excellent. After all, being outside in the cool air can build up an appetite!

Activities included the Human Gyroscope and Body Zorbs, making marshmallow men (and then toasting them over the open fire), obstacle courses and juggling performance by Johnny Toronto among others.

Here are some of the highlights from the event!

Lowville Winter Festival

This kid was so enthralled by the antics of Johnny Toronto and his juggling act. Look at that intent face!

Mr. Marshmallow on the fire

I can hear Mr. Marshmallow Man screaming in pain as he gets charred in the fire.

The Gorilla Cheese truck and several others were on hand to keep people well-fed.
